Kiss of Nature

At times I will totally relax and forget about technique and allow myself to flow. I listen to my intuition and only reach for materials that are seeking expression. So, if 'something' wants me to use ink, I reach for that, if 'something' wants to use sparkle or if Japanese hand made paper calls to me I'll use that and so on....... I don't question anything. This is a beautiful meditation without any structure at all. It appears to me that the influence of nature and the surrounding sea within me wanted a voice. I love this, I hope you do too.

The Single Rose

GIFTED. To new friends. I really liked the composition of this image and the soft 'pastelly' pinkness of the flower was just gorgeous. I love watercolour.

Red Rock

Along the 'front' beach of our island there is a small cliff face that is made of red ochre. I've seen kids slide down the face of the incline loving every minute, though I'm sure their mum's wouldn't appreciate trying to get the dye out of their clothes. This is my take on this beautiful feature of Coochiemudlo Island. Some modifications have been made to this image since taking this photo, shall post later.

Strength

SOLD 'Strength' was sold some time ago, it was a special image of a single tree that had weathered the storms and tides of it's surrounding. It has now succumbed to it's environment, I'm so glad I painted it's image before it had to say farewell.

Glow Through the Trees

Watercolour has always been my first love, and when I saw the light shining through these trees across the road from where I live, I just had to paint it. My son passed away some time ago and when I saw this light, my heart tugged as if he was communicating with me. Different mediums lend themselves perfectly to particular subjects - I think. Watercolour translated what I saw on this day really well.
